I get it; the idea of signing up for an adventure can feel equal parts exciting and terrifying. Maybe you’ve been scrolling through photos of women hiking through red gorges, swimming in outback waterholes, or saluting the sunrise with yoga mats unrolled … and you feel that little tug inside that whispers “I wish I could do that.

Then almost instantly, the doubts creep in.

Am I too old?

Can I go alone?

What if I’m not fit enough?

Trust me, you’re not alone. We hear these questions all the time from women who are right on the edge of saying yes to something life-changing. The truth? Adventure doesn’t ask for perfection. It asks for presence, curiosity, and a little courage to start.

So let’s bust some myths, shall we?

1. “Am I too old?”

You are never too old to adventure. Full stop.

Some of the most inspiring women we’ve ever travelled with were in their 50s, 60s, and even 70s. They’re the ones leading the pack up the trail, sharing wisdom around the campfire, and reminding everyone that age really is just a number.

The beauty of adventure travel - especially women’s adventure travel - is that it’s not about competition. It’s about connection, self-discovery, and moving your body in a way that feels good. Whether you’re hiking a gorge, kayaking a still river, or trying yoga for the first time, we go at a pace that celebrates the journey, not the finish line.

Age doesn’t limit you; it brings depth. The stories you’ve lived become part of the adventure you’re writing next.

2. “Can I come alone?”

ree

Absolutely, and here’s the secret: about 90% of our travellers come solo.

Most women arrive not knowing a soul, and by the end of the trip they’re laughing like lifelong friends. There’s something about stepping into the wild together that breaks down walls faster than any small talk ever could. Shared sunrises, shared challenges, shared snacks … it all builds instant connection.

Solo travel doesn’t mean being alone. It means giving yourself the chance to meet the right people, the kind of women who will cheer you on, hike beside you, and remind you how capable you really are.

If you’ve ever dreamed of taking a trip for you, this is your sign. You don’t need a friend to say yes, just the courage to take that first step.

3. “Am I fit enough?”

ree

This is one of the biggest fears, and honestly, one of the most common misconceptions. You don’t have to be an athlete to join an adventure,  just open-minded and willing to give things a go. Our trips are designed with real women in mind, not elite explorers. You’ll move your body, yes maybe climb a few hills, paddle a kayak, or do some yoga under the gum trees, but always at your own pace. We’re not racing. We’re reconnecting.

The wilderness has this magical way of meeting you exactly where you’re at. Every small step builds strength, confidence, and the deep knowing that you can do more than you ever imagined.

4. “Do I need to be good at yoga?”

ree

Not at all. You don’t even need to have done yoga before.

Our yoga sessions aren’t about perfect poses or fancy handstands. They’re about stretching sore muscles, breathing in the morning air, and grounding into the moment. Sometimes we’re on a wooden deck overlooking the ocean; sometimes we’re barefoot in the red dirt. Either way, it’s about feeling good in your body - not performing for anyone else.

So if your “downward dog” looks more like a “gentle stretch,” you’re doing it perfectly.

5. “Do I need to have travelled before?”

No passport stamps required.

Whether it’s your first adventure or your fiftieth, we’ve got you covered. Our team handles the logistics so you can focus on the experience; the laughter, the landscapes, and the pure joy of being out in nature.

Adventure doesn’t demand experience; it invites curiosity. Every seasoned traveller was once a beginner. Every confident hiker once asked these same questions. And every Wild Woman who’s ever joined us has walked away a little taller, a little braver, and a lot more alive.

So, what’s really stopping you?

Fear is normal, it’s just your comfort zone trying to keep you safe. But growth, freedom, and joy live on the other side of “what if.”

The truth is, you don’t need to be younger, fitter, or more experienced to take on an adventure. You just need to say yes.

Because once you’re out there, feet in the dirt, heart full, laughter echoing across the hills … you’ll realise the only thing you ever needed was the courage to begin.

So, are you ready?

Your adventure, and your wild side,  are waiting.
