Ladies... you better start getting those layers on, because we are going to the snow!
Wild Women Journeys is heading to Queenstown, New Zealand this winter for a week of fun on the slopes, where your snowboard and your skis will be your unconditional, best friends! If this is your first time trying any of these snow sports, do not worry about a thing - we've got you covered! You can be any level and still have the best time. If you’ve never tried skiing or snowboarding there will be lessons available to have you shredding in no time!
We can't promise you won't be sore after spending all day out and about in the snow, but what we can promise you is a gorgeous cozy accommodation to arrive to, nourishing comfort food that adapts to all dietary requirements, cups of hot chocolate by the fire (or wine... or both!) and a much-needed, restorative Yoga & Meditation to heal the body and the mind from our busy lives.
We will also challenge ourselves with a cold plunge in the lake but don’t worry because you can jump into a sauna right after! It’s an experience that will most definitely get us out of our comfort zones (that’s what WWJ life is all about after all!)
And possibly the most exciting part of this trip, which we are saving for last, is a back country cross country skiing adventure where we will make our way to a remote alpine hut for the night! A quick lesson before in cross country skiing will ensure we all feel ready for this adventure! This trip is, without a doubt, the perfect balance between wholesome & wild, and definitely an adventure that you won't forget!

Itinerary
The following itinerary is an accurate estimate of the activities that we will be doing during the trip. These activities, as well as the times, may vary due to weather conditions or by common consent of the group. On adventures in the wild like this, we are very subject to the elements, so sometimes we have to shift from 'Plan A' to "Plan B". Its important to keep in mind some room for unpredictability and spontaneity. 😊
DAY 1:
HOME‚ SWEET‚ HOME

Check-in to our home sweet home for the week is at 2:00 p.m. We will get settled into our rooms and then head into town to get all our hired gear for the snow.

Back at our cozy home later we’ll have dinner and open up the week with a welcome circle.

Early rest & digest night… It's a big day tomorrow!
DAY 2-5:
LET 'S SKI, GIRLS!

Early bird gets the worm!

Brekkie, coffee & tea will be waiting for you when you wake up.

Time to get ready… Let's hit the slopes!!!

All the newbies that have pre-booked ski and snowboard lessons will begin their classes. The more advanced skiers will head out into the mountains for a few hours of fun (& falls!).

We will all meet up for lunch on the mountain where there are lots of options to choose from.
-
After lunch, you will have the option to continue skiing / riding or relax and have sip a hot cocoa if you are feeling tired.

We'll down the mountain around 4 , just in time for a hot tub session, a cup of tea, some nourishing dinner and some time to relax with some yin yoga.

What a day! Are you ready for more? Tomorrow we wake up and do it all again! Yeeewww.
DAY 6:
REST THE BODY… CHALLENGE THE MIND…

After 4 full days on the slopes we will take a break from skiing/snowboarding, allowing our bodies to rest and our muscles to recover from all the physical effort they have been doing for the past couple of days. We will have a bit of a sleep-in, enjoying a slower morning in our beautiful home.

We’ll enjoy a yoga class followed by breakfast and then you'll have the morning free to explore the town. Queenstown is a cute little mountain town with lots of nice shops and cafes. And if you are feeling adventurous there are an endless number of adrenaline filled activities to choose from. Queenstown is actually the adventure capital of New Zealand!

Then onto one of our favourite parts of the trip...down to the lake for a cold dip and a sauna!

We’ll end the day with dinner back at the house.
DAY 7:
DID SOMEONE SAY HIKING IN THE SNOW!? (A.K.A. Cross country skiing!)

Today our adventure takes a turn for the wild, into the back country!
-
After checking out of our house in the morning we will drive about 40 minutes to our backcountry starting location where we will strap on some cross country skis and have a short lesson before heading off into the mountains.

After a few hours of cross country skiing we will arrive at our home for the night, a little rustic alpine hut. Time to light the fire and heat up some tea!
DAY 8:
FAREWELL‚ MY FRIENDS

After our final breakfast together we will make our way back from the hut to the carpark, arriving around 12pm.

Sadly this will be the end of our journey.😔

We can either drop you off at the airport or at your next accommodation.

If your going to fly out this day make sure your flight is no earlier than 5pm to ensure theres enough time to get you to the airport.
